Something big in the works on “American Idol”

Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy JacksonThe executive producer of “American Idol”, Cecil Frot-Coutaz has hinted at a giant event to take place in the middle of the next season of the hit Fox show, something that will “blow America away.” I haven’t the foggiest idea what this event could be, but I am definitely intrigued! The announcement does come amidst murmurings that the ratings might drop for season 6, so it’s likely this is in response to that. I’m sure this will help rein in those ratings; if there’s something that grabs the average American’s attention span, it’s a juicy stunt!

    Every December/January there’s talk about the Idol ratings suffering, and yet it never happens. More and more people keep tuning in! While AI5 was the best IMO, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about for season 6. No stunts are necessary to keep millions of us coming back for more.
