Getting down to the wire on Survivor
Despite being the last episode before the big finale on Sunday, last night’s show was actually pretty ho-hum. Nothing outrageous happened, there were no major shake-ups and everyone acted pretty much predictably. Except Jeff, however. He jumped all over Yul at tribal council when he dared to bring Jonathon’s hat to him (by the way, Jonathon sure cleans up good!). I’m not entirely sure why, but it could have been because Jeff thought Yul was trying to fraternize with the jury. Or it could be because Jeff is a prick. Hard tellin’.
Anyhow, Ozzy won a particularly filthy reward challenge where the contestants had to transport mud using no more than their bodies. He took Parvati and Yul with him, as they captured second and third place, respectively. Adam, poor thing, got sent to Exile Island. The reward had to feel good though; the winners took a jet to a spa where they got cleaned up in style. Parvati tried a halfhearted attempt at flirting with Ozzy but it was no dice. A little late to be trying that, don’t you think? Meanwhile, back at camp, Becky and Sundra wonder if maybe they shouldn’t be booting Ozzy, the challenge winning fiend.
After a particularly difficult immunity challenge, which Ozzy easily won (go figure), strategy gets kicked into high gear. Parvati and Adam attempt to woo Ozzy which makes Yul rather cranky. In the end, it’s Parvati who gets sent to the jury. Deserving, but not thrilling by any means. It looks like Adam is set to go home next, but a lot of that will depend on what twists and turns are in store for the remaining castaways. And, of course, on who wins immunity. I’m still amazed no one has forced Yul to use his immunity idol. That’s gonna bite someone in the butt come Sunday, I guarantee you that.
So we go into the finale with quite a few people to eliminate. Unlike last night, Sunday’s show promises to be a very, very interesting one.
