Well there have been some good things happening to some of our favorite former Bachelors and Bachelorettes.

Let’s begin with the news that my all time favorite Bachelorette Jen Schefft got engaged. Jen met future hubby Joe on a blind date, which was actually set up by a guy that Jen had previously gone on a blind date with. Talk about an interesting way to meet. The happy couple has been together about a year and live in Chicago.

There is also news from Jen’s former boyfriend ex-Bachelor Andrew Firestone. Andrew and his new bride announced they are expecting their first child in April. The couple wed last July at his family’s Vineyard. This is great news for Andrew and Ivana and I congratulate them both. It is nice to see that both Andrew and Jen have found the happiness they both deserved.

It looks like former Bachelor couple Charlie O’Connell and Sarah Brice are giving their love another try. As you all remember Charlie picked Sarah in the final rose ceremony of his Bachelor season. Here is hoping the second time is a charm for this couple.

Love is still in the air for the most recent Bachelorette DeAnna and her man Jesse. The duo recently revealed that they are scaling back their May 9th wedding. Apparently they opted for a smaller wedding that could enjoy as opposed to a big wedding, which can be overwhelming. I for one cannot wait to hear about this wedding. Anyone think they will pull a Rob & Amber and get married on TV? I kind of don’t think they will.

That is all I have for now. Until next time my Reality TV friends.

Are you looking to spend a nice Sunday on your couch? Well I have some great stuff for you to watch. MTV kicks off all new episodes of Made and True Life at 1PM EST. There will be four new episodes of Made and three new episodes of True Life. Here is the schedule
Made: Figure Skater 1PM
Made: Triathlete 2PM
Made: Football Player 3PM
Made: Beauty Queen 4PM
True Life: I’m A Single Parent 5PM
True Life: I’m A Mixed Martial Arts Fighter 6PM
True Life: I’m Living off the Grid 7PM. Check out the trailer for this episode here.
If Made and True Life are not your thing, then tune into The CW at 6PM EST for In Harm’s Way. The show hosted by former Navy Fighter Pilot Hunter Ellis documents the stories of some of the most brave and courageous individuals who endure life-threatening jobs, all for the better of society. Such jobs as hurricane chasers, avalanche hunters, Coast Guard rescuers, will be featured. I love shows like this and I have a feeling this one is going to be awesome.
<img src="http://www.watchingrealitytv.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/hef1.jpg" alt="" title="hef1" width="100 height="120" class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1071" />Now if you want a show that is well lets say a little less intense, The Girls Next Door are back tonight at 10PM EST on E!. That is right Hef and his girls return for an all-new season. It is quite interesting that the show is back now considering there are a few rumors about Hef and the girls going around. Although I am not a huge fan of this show, I can see why someone who is looking for mindless television to watch would tune in to this show.
Alright it looks like you have a few shows to choose from. Whatever you decide to watch, I hope you have a great Sunday.

Anyway as I watched the promo I initially had this oh my god I can’t believe those crappy shows are still on TV reaction. I am not sure why I had such a reaction other than I have always thought these are two of the worst Reality shows on broadcast television. I am surprised that ABC keeps them on. They must do decent ratings and god knows I am sure they are super cheap to make. I think that Supernanny woman is obnoxious and what parent in their right mind would let that woman into their home. I don’t have kids so I don’t know what it is like to have beyond out of control kids, but I would think there is a better way to handle them then Supernanny. Then there is WifeSwap, which is about as bad as the Denise Richards show I hated, who in their right mind would agree to swap wives for a week or however long it is. Really you’re going to let a total stranger take control of your house. I guess some people will do anything to be on television. I just don’t get the attraction for viewers to either one of these shows. You all know I try not to do too much bashing or negative writing on this blog, but I just had to write about these two shows. Awful I tell you. I really am baffled that they are both still on. I want to know who is watching these shows and what it is they like about them. So please if you are a fan of Wife Swap or Supernanny let me know why. I promise to value your opinion, so please speak up.

It appears that Project Runway is causing quite the uproar, not the show itself, but where the show belongs. It seems that NBC Universal is none too happy that The Weinstein Company went and sold the show to Lifetime. That is right it is now a battle between NBC Universal and The Weinstein’s for the where the mega hit Bravo show will air. Last week a judge granted a preliminary injunction that essentially halted The Weinstein Company’s deal with Lifetime. I am guessing someone at Lifetime is none too happy with The Weinstein’s right now either. Project Runway is currently filming its sixth season that was set to air on Lifetime in January, as of now it is unclear where or when the sixth season will be.
Basically here is the issue. NBC Universal is saying it should get first dibs on the show or in more technical terms a right to refuse the show before The Weinstein Company can sell it to another network. Well The Weinstein’s are saying that NBC Universal was never granted the whole first dibs or right of refusal thing. Furthermore according to The Weinstein Company, NBC Universal turned down the exact deal that was made with Lifetime. The injunction pretty much says that The Weinstein’s didn’t give NBC Universal a chance to match the terms of the deal before they went and closed a deal with Lifetime. I know this is a lot of legal jargon. The jist of it is, Lifetime wants the show, NBC Universal wants the show, and The Weinstein’s clearly got more money from Lifetime so really all they want is money. See what happens when a show is as successful as Project Runway. I have a feeling the battle for Project Runway is far from over. Personally I don’t care what network it is on, as long as it is on. I will keep you updated on this real Reality TV show drama.

Oxygen is finally getting into the lifestyle reality genre. Coolio, who you all know as one of the most popular hip hop artists, is getting his own series Coolio Rules. The show will follows the musician from life on the road to managing his four teenagers. Currently the show is slated for six one-hour episodes that will begin Oct 28th at 10PM EST. I am sure there will be more to come on this show.

The Food Network will premiere The Chef Jeff Project on Sunday October 12th at 10PM EST. This is a new type of cooking show for Food Network. Jeff Henderson, a former prison inmate now executive chef, will take six troubled young adults and teach them how to cook while they help him run his new Los Angeles catering company. Each episode essentially follows Jeff as he teaches these young adults the ins and outs of food and life skills. I think this is a great idea for a show, and it has definitely grabbed my attention.

Bravo is still trying to capitalize on the success of their hit show The Real Housewives of Orange County. The network is going to develop a new docu-soap version using real 18-25 year olds from Orange County. Production is slated for this fall. Someone might want to tell Bravo this has already been done with Laguna Beach and The O.C. Just my opinion.

Chef Gordon Ramsey and Fox have reached a renewal agreement. That means viewers will be getting more Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares. Apparently the renewal also gives Gordon the chance to host a cooking special sometime during the season. That is definitely good news for all.

Discovery Channel will debut its new series Toughest Races on Earth: Iditarod on October 14th at 10PM.

Until next time.

I guess since Nicole went and had a baby Paris has been lonely, or maybe she just wanted to do another Reality TV show. Honestly whatever her reason, I don’t care, I am just super excited for her new show. Paris Hilton’s My New BFF premieres tonight at 10PM EST on MTV. The show is exactly what the title says Paris is looking for a new BFF and she handpicked sixteen guys and girls who are literally vying for her friendship. The wannbe Paris BFF’s will all travel to Beverly Hills to compete in tests of loyalty, endurance and compatibility with the media as they are blindfolded. Plus they will be quizzed or interrogated if you will on their knowledge of Paris. That is not all though, the group also travels the globe in order to learn what it is like to maintain a brand, get VIP makeovers and attend red carpet events, plus much more that I don’t want to give away. Basically they are all being tested to see who can keep up with the socialite. Each contestant is hoping they never hear what I am sure will become a new hit phrase from Paris, TTYN which means Talk To You Never Obviously only one very lucky guy or girl will be get to be Paris’s New BFF.
In order to get you pumped up for tonight’s premier I have included the trailer and a few from the show. Enjoy and don’t forget to tune in tonight!

There are a few pretty big stories coming out of the show The Hills.

Starting with what I think is the biggest news Britney Spears new single Womanizer from her new upcoming album Circus will make an exclusive television debut during tonight’s episode of The Hills at 10PM EST on MTV. Britney and The Hills talk about a perfect combination. Nice way to kick off your new music comeback Brit Brit.

US Weekly is reporting that Audrina has in fact officially moved out of Lauren’s house. Although sources confirm that Audrina simply decided to buy her own place and that all is good with Audrina, Lo and Lauren, I kind of think the source is full of it. But hey that is just my opinion. According to the magazine Audrina moved out on September 18th and the MTV cameras were rolling for all the awkward moments. Personally I am glad that she moved out even after the supposed make up you could just tell things were not comfortable.

And my favorite news is that Whitney Port is now officially getting her own show. The much talked about Hills spinoff is a go. Whitney recently left People’s Revolution and LA to work for Diane von Frustenberg in New York City. The new show, which is set to debut in 2009, will clearly follow Whitney and her new life. Apparently a tearful goodbye scene was filmed a couple of weeks ago between Lauren and Whitney. Personally I think the new show will be a hit, everyone loves Whitney.

Ok Hills fans that is all I have for you now.

Is it me or does it seem like forever since this show was on. There was no winter season last year so it has been almost a year, which explains my forever feeling. I love the Amazing Race it is one of my all time favorite shows, not just Reality shows, but all shows. Sticking with the winning dynamic of teams of two, remember the debacle that was Amazing Race families, yeah there will be none of that, the show follows teams as they literally race around the world. The race has everything from detours, which give you a choice of two tasks, to roadblocks where only one team member can do the challenge. The last team to check in with host Phil Keoghan at the end of each leg of the race is eliminated. However the first team to check in with Phil on the last leg of the race wins $1,000,000. Side note here but I was really disappointed that Phil was not nominated for an Emmy in the host category. He is awesome and I really think he deserved to be nominated over Howie, nothing personal against Howie. Anyway, the 13th season promises to have some exciting twists and turns, such as one team that makes such a grave mistake they are prohibited from joining the other teams at the end of the race finish line. That certainly has me wondering about the new season. The Amazing Race begins tonight at 8PM EST on CBS. Some advice for those who are planning to DVR the show, record the show after because we all know Sunday afternoon football runs long.

This is a Reality TV blog and I have no intentions of discussing politics here. However the presidential debate is on tonight, it will be airing at 9PM EST on pretty much all major networks, and I think everyone should tune in. I mean seriously it doesn’t get any more reality than two men trying to prove to us all who is better to run the country. I am betting there will be some drama and backstabbing in this event.
I really wanted to write this blog to simply inform you that the debate is on tonight. I think it is very important for people to watch this debate. We are talking about a history making election here and I feel that all of my readers should have all the information needed to make the choice that is right for them. I get that staying home on a Friday night to watch the debate may not be at the top of peoples list of fun things to do, so I say at the very least DVR the debate. I am not here to tell you who to vote for etc, there are plenty of people and political blogs doing that right now. Ok so there you have it, presidential debate tonight 9PM EST all major networks, tune in. Please at some point watch it, I don’t want to get all political but it is important to watch.

I am going to be honest here, I have not been particularly thrilled with the last couple of Survivor Seasons. I actually stopped watching China mid season because I was soooooo bored. I did watch Fans vs. Faves all the way through and it was ok. I think the problem is that Survivor has been on for so many seasons it is hard to keep it fresh and interesting. I do however have high hopes for Survivor Gabon which beings tonight at 8PM EST on CBS. If you have seen the promos for Survivor Gabon then you will know why I have high expectations. Gabon is being labeled earths last eden, and as you all know Survivor is all about surviving the elements. Well that and surviving all the backstabbing. Amway the cast looks good, there is an Olympic Gold Medalist and a professional gamer, not sure what a professional gamer is, but is sounds good. Rumor has it this season Exile Island has a new twist. It is only called Exile and the contestants get a choice between a clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol or instant comfort such as some food, and something nice to sleep on. I hope that rumor is true because that could be interesting. This marks the second time that Survivor has been filmed in Africa, Season 3 was filmed in Kenya. There will definitely be more blogs on Survivor Gabon, so keep checking back. Also log onto to CBS.com and check out Survivor Fantasy League, you could win a trip to Gabon.
