“DWTS”: Week 3 results

My wishes have been answered. Life has returned to normal, or at least a reasonable facsimile thereof. Wayne Newton has been eliminated, mercifully, from “Dancing with the Stars”. In case you missed the landmark episode on Tuesday evening, here are some recaps:
However, with all good news there must be bad news as well. Tuesday night was Drew Lachey’s last night to cohost the show meaning that Samantha Harris will be back next week. Say it with me: NOOOOOOO!!!! Drew has been wonderful on the show. He has great chemistry with Tom and I have enjoyed the show so much more with him on it (and Samantha NOT). I’m very disappointed by this news. I was hoping (against all hope) that maybe Drew would end up staying for the rest of the season. Then the producers would see how much everyone preferred Drew and would kick Samantha out and replace her with Drew in all upcoming seasons. It was a fools hope, but there you have it.
Jennie Garth and Derek were chosen to repeat their tango and while I was a bit skeptical of it on Monday night, it was a lot better. And actually worthy of the marks they received for it. I was surprised that Floyd was in the bottom two with Wayne, rather than Mark Cuban. Perhaps Mark has a larger fan base (owing to his blog) than I expected he would have. That won’t last if he keeps on dancing like a doofus. Even die hard fans can only take so much. Floyd isn’t perfect, but he’s a far better dancer than Mark.
So next week we have the Paso Doble and the Viennese Waltz. Hmm. This could make or break some of these couples. Should be a good show (even without Drew *sob*).
