CMT’s Reality Shows
It looks like CMT is in the Reality TV show business too. CMT’s two hit shows My Big Redneck Wedding and Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making The Team both returned last Saturday.
My Big Redneck Wedding hosted by Tom Arnold returned for season two with even more rowdy Rednecks. The show gives a new meaning to for better or worse. One episode in season one, a women went shopping for bridesmaids attire at an army surplus type store. I am not judging here but it is a whole different world. It is an interesting world to say the least. I remember watching Tom Arnold on The Ellen DeGeneres show last year and he described the show the best. He said it is simple people who want to have a fun, simple, rowdy wedding. I haven’t watched it yet but I am kind of intrigued. My Big Redneck Wedding airs Saturdays at 9PM EST.
Then there is Dallas Cheerleaders: Making The Team which returned for season three. The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and their uniforms are definitely an American Icon. The cheerleaders have even been called America’s Sweethearts and many young girls dream of becoming a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. I didn’t but that is irrelevant. Anyway CMT and The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders bring you along for the four-month process as they pick the next squad. There are only 36 spots and more than 50,000 applications. Plus veterans need to retry out for the team too, making this grueling completion even better. The show will focus primarily 8-12 people so the viewers can really get to know them. If you think The DCC is just looking for another pretty face, think again. These women need to be true athletes who can prove themselves in the categories of football knowledge, dance, athleticism, overall style and more. Kelly Finglass, a former DCC, Judy Trammell, the DCC choreographer, and Jay Johnson, a former Army drill sergeant, will ultimately decided who makes the cut. Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making The Team airs Saturdays at 9:30PM EST. If anyone out there has watched either of these shows, please let me know what you think. I may have to DVR them.
