“Big Brother”: The tide has turned

by Marilyn Porter

Week 6 HoH CompetitionYou want recaps? I got recaps. This is the place for the recaps, yo.

  • Television Without Pity’s weecap
  • TV Squad’s recap
  • Big Brother Craze’s liveblog
  • CBS.com’s recap and video (so you can watch Dick’s stunned expression over and over and over….)

Before I saw the eviction, I truly thought Eric was done for. I hadn’t read any live feed spoilers at all. And I thought, “Poor Eric.” And you know, he wasn’t entirely innocent. But he wasn’t as guilty as they’re painting him either. I truly feel as though both America and Big Brother failed Eric here. America, for whatever reason, has made Eric vote the way he has in the past evictions. And Big Brother set up this imperfect situation. And what happened to preventing planes from flying overhead? I would think that during an HoH competition they would be extra vigilant about this. Because that’s what it all comes down to here. The only reason Eric was vulnerable this week was because of that stupid plane. And because Daniele fell for it hook line and sinker. And because for some bizarre reason she felt this need to avenge Nick, who wasn’t even her actual boyfriend. Explain this to me, because the logic here just simply fails me. Eric was unable to defend himself because he can’t reveal his position as America’s Player and I felt like he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Argh! All these people are liars. Why don’t they just stop and realize that?? Look at Kail, for pity’s sake. She’s one of the biggest liars in the show. And of course we know Amber’s “big lie” but has it escaped everyone’s memory that Amber was also implicated on that plane’s banner? Holy moses, why do I even WATCH this show?? (It’s fantastic, that’s why. Horribly, horribly fantastic.)

But, all belly-aching aside, Eric escaped by the skin of his teeth. And I’m incredibly pleased about it.

Dustin is a smart, smart, SMART player. I lurve him, honestly. Dick is pissed and confused and this totally shakes up the house. I LOVE IT. Amber still drives me nuts (can I cut off her cornrows? please?). Jameka has so much class. I feel so bad that she has given up competing for HoH. She should be safe anyhow, but still. That’s a lot to have given up. LOL, so much for Kail’s “big secret” as Jessica had her number BUT GOOD. She didn’t even hesitate before answering about who the multi-business owner was. Jessica won HoH! That is so fantastic you don’t even know. HA! Oh, sweet vindication! I like Dick trying to start something with Dustin right after the competition too. He’s obviously feeling pretty annoyed right about now. And WHY was he going after Jameka at the very end of the show? What’d she do to him? Dude, Dick better be up on the block this week.
