“Armed and Famous” cancelled

Erik EstradaI think we all saw this one coming. Four episodes into the series, CBS has decided to yank “Armed and Famous”, which follows five d-list celebrities around Muncie, Indiana as they perform duties as police officers. Seven episodes total were planned and filmed. What of the remaining three episodes? VH1 will air at least one of those episodes this weekend with the original four. It all came down to ratings. The reality show was airing opposite “American Idol”, for one thing. The show was 44th in the ratings during the first week, falling to 70th in the second. A shame to the celebrities and the town of Muncie, to be sure. I can’t think of too many reality shows or even regular shows for that matter that would fare well against “American Idol”, much less one with such a dubious setup. Oh well, see ya on the flip side, Erik Estrada!
