Real Housewives Update

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

So there are some things happening on the Real Housewives front. Let’s begin with the news that The Real Housewives of New York has been picked up for a second season. The new season will bring a new housewife into the mix. Kelly Bensimon joins Alex, Bethany, Jill, LuAnn and Ramona. Kelly is a designer, model, author, fashion editor, and of course a staple in Manhattan society. I am sure Kelly will add even more drama to the already drama filled Real Housewives of New York City. Season 2 is currently being shot in Manhattan and The Hamptons. Bravo has also ordered but a fourth season of the original housewives, The Real Housewives of Orange County to be back in the spring. Also word on the street is that Bravo is developing The Real Housewives of New Jersey. All I can say about that is, interesting. What is it with networks that get a hit show and then make a ton of different franchises, CSI, Law and Order, etc. I understand capitalizing on a hit, but sometimes too much of a show is not a good thing. Personally I didn’t like The Real Housewives of New York as much as I did Orange County. In the mean time if you are having Real Housewives withdrawal, never fear Bravo is currently running a preview clip of the upcoming The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Check out Bravotv.com for specific air times. Wow that is a lot of good whiney women Housewives drama to coming so stay tuned for more information.

The Two Corey’s Too Bad To Watch.

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

After I saw Corey Haims meltdown on Perezhilton.com, I decided it might be worth it to check out his Reality show with Corey Feldman, The Two Corey’s. So I set up my DVR and recorded 4 episodes. All I can is what a waste of my DVR space. I should have just stuck with my initial instinct from watching the pilot in Season 1, which was, this show is not good. I only made it through two episodes, which is more than I watched in Season 1 so I made progress. Honestly though I can’t believe I wasted an hour of my life watching these two guys. Corey Haim is a drug addict who blames his addiction on everyone except himself. Corey Feldman has a great family, but spends his time ranting about how Haim did him wrong. I get that these two have serious issues and the point of the show now is to mend the clearly destroyed friendship of the once famous duo. However, I think that someone should tell The Coreys that sometimes it is just better to let a friendship go when it isn’t working. Of course then neither one of them would have a reality show if that happened. I will say it makes me a little sad to see how messed up each Corey is, in different ways, but nonetheless they are both screwed up. Anyway I have yet again given you my opinion, and now I want to hear yours. Have you watched The Two Coreys? If you have watched the show, share your thoughts with me.

Elizabeth Berkley’s New MTV Show

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Elizabeth Berkley has inked a deal with MTV to develop what is being called an unscripted show. The former Saved by The Bell star is basing the show on the self-esteem workshop Ask Elizabeth that she created. Apparently Berkeley has spent the last couple of years giving workshops around the country that try to help empower girls. Jesse Spano teaching Girl Power seminars, I think I like it. Hey in today’s society you can never have too many organizations, workshops, seminars, etc that teach girls, or really any kids, teenagers and young adults about self-esteem. I am quite impressed with Elizabeth Berkley creating such a workshop for girls, and to bring it to television is great. I do admit it will be interesting to see how the seminars are turned into a show. Since the show hasn’t even been shot yet there isn’t much to say about it. I look forward to hearing more about this show, and checking it out once it begins. And can I say I am glad that Elizabeth Berkley is getting her own show, I was worried she might be desperate enough to make Showgirls 2.
A side note though, I am surprised that MTV picked up a show like this, I mean unless MTV totally screws it up, this show could actual have some substance. You all know I love The Hills, but we all know it is not a show with any sort of depth to it. No specific time as to when this show will debut, MTV is looking to shoot the pilot in the fall. So stay tuned for more developments on the new Elizabeth Berkley show.

Trouble for Team Griffin?

Monday, July 28th, 2008

It looks like there is trouble in paradise for Kathy Griffin’s infamousTeam Griffin. Jessica Zajicek, Kathy first assistant, has quit. Anyway Jessica had enough of Kathy’s crazy shenanigans and left at the beginning of July. I am truly baffled that Jessica left. I mean she worked for Kathy for years, which I guess is the one of the reasons for Jessica’s departure. Although she seemed to have things pretty good on Team Griffin, getting drunk a lot, trips to Australia and Bora Bora. That definitely sounds much better then my day job. I am sure the job is harder than it looks on TV, and that Kathy is probably not as great as she appears on her show. But seriously all I can say is WOW, no more Jessica. I wasn’t all that impressed with Jessica, so I admit I am not too sad to see her go. Shocked yes, sad not so much. I wonder what this means for Team Griffin, and Kathy’s reality show. Oh and in case you were hoping to catch the Jessica drama on Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, the show is currently not in production, bummer for us fans. I have a feeling Team Griffin and the show will be just fine, I am sure there are a number of people dying to work as Kathy’s assistant. Plus this could mean great things for Tiffany. Whatever happens I wish Jessica good luck in her adventures, and Kathy call me I have always said I would love to be a member of Team Griffin.

The Ashley Dupre Show?

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Although I would like to say it isn’t true, it’s looking like
Ashley Dupre could be going to from call girl to Reality TV star. Oh yes my faithful readers it seems anything goes in the Reality TV world. Apparently Ashley, who is rumored to be working with Handprint Entertainment, is in talks with MTV for her own Tila Tequila type show. In case you have been living under a rock, Ashley Dupre is the call girl that pretty much cost former New York Governor Elliot Spitzer his job last March. To set the record straight I firmly believe both Ashley and Elliot are despicable for what they did. Anyway, Ashley thinks that the best way to get past what happened is to have her own show. After all that how all people deal with problems and scandals, they get their own Reality show, right?
All I can say about this is, you’ve got to be kidding me! Is it just me or can anyone get a reality show these days. I realize that most reality shows with “known famous” people are so those same people can keep their 15 minutes of fame, but is MTV and the Reality TV so desperate that they are going to reward Ashley’s bad behavior with her own show. What kind of message does that send? Yes I know most of what makes Reality TV so great is bad behavior but this is too much. Let me make it clear, if this show does end up happening I will NOT watch and I might have to seriously think about boycotting MTV. Although I am not sure how I would give up watching The Hills and The Challenges. Alright, you have heard my 2 cents on toe subject, so tell me what you think about the possibility that Ashley Dupre will be getting her own shown?

Big Brother’s Jesse Is A Tool

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

After everything that went down this week on Big Brother, there is one thing that can’t be disputed and ousted houseguest Steven said it best. Jesse is a tool! He became an overconfident jerk from get go as soon as he won Head of Household. He called out Renny and Steven for not being respectful to him, meanwhile he has done nothing to earn their respect. He thought that since he was Head of Household people should bow to his feet. Someone should really remind the bodybuilder that he is only HOH for a week, as of last night all his power is gone. And furthermore if I hear him say one more time that everyone basically thinks of him as all brawl and no brains, I might have to throw something at my TV. He is a classic meathead. Only meatheads continue to talk about their body, what great shape they are in etc. I mean seriously his HOH room had more pictures of him posing then of his family. Maybe it is just me cause body builder muscle guys are not my type but I think Jesse would be better looking with less muscle. All that body building crap aside, Jesse has just got to go. He whines too much about being disrespected, being the youngest etc. I can’t stand him and I hope that new HOH Keesha gives him the boot. On a quick side note unrelated to Jesse, I was sad to see Steven leave. Not just because I like him better than Dan, but because I was hoping the Ollie, Libra, Keesha, April alliance would stir things up by voting Dan out. Oh well onto the next nominations. If you want to see what I am talking about in regards to Jesse watch the below episodes from CBS.com.

MTV’s New Series Buzzin

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

MTV is premiering their latest reality show Buzzin tonight at 10:30 PM EST. MTV is labeling the show a comedic ensemble staring music artist Shwayze and his best pal tabloid bad boy Cisco Adler. That is right Mischa Barton’s ex is getting his own show. Oh an apparently Cisco is also Shwayze’s producer. Anyway the two are debuting their new “California” sound and the show follows them on their journey, along with their manager Jordan Schur, head of Suretone Records. As with any reality show there is going to be a lot twists and turns as Cisco and Shwayze get ready for the August 19th release of their self-titled album. Basically you get to see how these two go from the trailer parks to the top of the chart, so to speak. If you want to hear a preview of the album, their first single Buzzin is currently toping charts, not that I have heard it at all. Fans of Cisco, Shwayze, and Buzzin can watch extended trailers, expanded scenes, and check out exclusive performance footage from the album at www.buzzin.mtv.com. I have to admit this doesn’t really sound like my type of show. Cisco Adler thoroughly disgusts me. And their music isn’t really my type of music either. But hey to each his own right. I am sure there are plenty of my faithful readers who will find this show appealing. So let me know what you think? Am I prejudging this show too much by my dislike of Cisco or am I right on?

How To Look Good Naked

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Ladies and Gentlemen Carson Kressley is back to teach women how to feel and look good naked. Lifetime’s inspirational show How To Look Good Naked returns for Season 2 tonight at 10PM EST. The show expands from a half hour to an hour as Carson guides one woman from hating her body to loving it so much she will pose naked. I watched this show last winter and I recommend that all women check it out. Let’s face it girls we all have body images whether we admit it or not, I know I do. This show will inspire you more than words can really describe. I took some of the techniques shown in season one and they really work. Simple things like finding the right bra can change how your clothes look on you. Granted not all of us can go out and totally revamp our wardrobe at once but hey change takes time. And this show isn’t about changing your body it’s about changing your body perception. So the techniques are about helping you do that. I will admit Carson Kressley can be a little over the top and annoying but you get past that. The only thing I am not sure about is the show now being an hour long. I thought a half hour was the perfect amount of time. Anyway, ladies check out this show! It is so inspiring and honestly just watching it makes me feel better. Also if you are really inspired you can go to myLifetime.com where there are all sorts of tips and tidbits. So watch the show and let me know if you get as inspired as I did.

Whacked Out Women of Reality TV

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Tonight the E! hit show The Soup, presents “Whacked Out Women of Reality TV”. Host Joel McHale gives us a run down of some of the most whacked out women who’ve been on Reality TV. Of course it’s done in true Soup fashion as only Joel and his crew can do. If you are a Soup fan then you know that The Soup does a hysterically funny segment on Reality TV. I can only imagine how entertaining a show based entirely on Reality TV will be. The show airs tonight on 10PM EST on E!.

As you all know from my The Soup blog I am a big fan of the show. I recently watched The Soup presents “Stuff Your Mother Won’t Let You Watch”, and it was awesome. I love shows like this that just take clips and people from various shows and essentially make like a highlight show. That is exactly what the show is, a highlight show. Now there is one thing that is a little confusing to me. How in the world can they decide between all the whack jobs who have been on Reality TV. There are so many. Personally I think that Brooke from Real World Denver should be at the top of the list. That girl was a complete psycho. Remember when she destroyed Davis’s room? And what about Denise Richards, everything about her screams crazy.

So my two picks are Broike and Denise, who do you think should be on The Soup’s “Whacked Out Women Of Reality TV”? Don’t forget to tune in tonight to see if you pick makes the final cut.

High School Musical Get In The Picture

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

Calling all High School Musical fans, the wait is over! No I am not talking about the wait for High School Musical 3. I am talking about ABC’s all new reality show High School Musical Get In The Picture. One the lucky winner will get to be in the music video playing during the end credits of High School Musical 3, which for the first time ever in the HSM seies, the movie will be air in movie theaters this fall. Pretty cool prize I would say. If you have seen the promos, then you know this show is being called the biggest reality show of the summer. Personally I think this show is going to be bigger and better than American Idol. After all High School Musical is the hottest thing among the teens and tweens right now, so anything even remotely related to it will be a success. Plus who doesn’t like a reality show singing competition, I know I do. Also super hot ex-boybander Nick Lachey is the host. I think Nick alone is worth watching the show for, not only is he hot, but he has a compassion that will help these contestants when things really heat up. Yes I am a Nick fan, and I am only slightly embrassed to admit it. The two night premiere event begins tonight at 8PM EST on ABC and continues tomorow at 8PM EST. It may be a two night event but each night is only one hour long. Are you ready for summers biggest reality show?

Big Brother Week 1 Rocked!

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Alright you all knew it was coming, my first Big Brother blog. Week 1 has been fantastic! There was already a complete blindside and house flip. Usually it takes me a while to warm up to a new group of houseguests. After all, you are still used to the previous houseguests and quite frankly there are so many in the beginning. I tend to really get into a show once the cast dwindles a little, but not this time. Ollie made an alliance with Brian and Dan, then completely sold out Brian and lead the charge to get him evicted. Which by the way worked cause Brian was the 1st houseguest evicted. I could not have been happier about Brian’s eviction, Brian was way too cocky. The guy really thought he was controlling the game from the get go. Hello have you not watched the show? Everyone knows you don’t get too confident in the beginning and you don’t stir things up right away. Those are two things that always get people sent home in the first couple of weeks. Personally I think he got what he deserved, which is why it was so good. And now a totally off the wall reason why I am loving this season. I like how Iowa is being represented by Jesse, in his Iowa shirts and Olie in his Iowa State shirts. Anytime my home state is represented it makes me happy. Also the houseguests are so diverse this season compared to last season. Diversity always makes a show better. So all in all Season 10 of Big brother is off to a phenomenal start. Tune in Sunday at 8PM EST on CBS to see who gets nominated for eviction.

MTV’s Survivor Style Challenge

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

rr.jpgLast week I rambled on about how MTV had not done a challenge since the Gauntlet 3. Well I can stop ranting. MTV is bringing us an all new challenge in the fall. There was a promo the other night after the Real World Hollywood finale, yes I watched the finale and boy am I glad I did. The promo for the new challenge, called The Island, was awesome. The Island is a Survivor Style challenge. The former Real World/Road Rules “stars? will compete against each other in an every man for himself challenge. The contestants will be isolated on an Island where they will compete for a grand prize of $300,000.Yep that is right, it’s individual challenge time, which I have to say, I like. After years of team challenges, MTV did need to changes things up a bit. By the looks of it from the promo, it will be completely different. I mean one could say they are doing a Survivor rip off, but personally I have faith that MTV will put their own spin on it to make it not so much like Survivor. I mean let’s face it; the type of drama that goes on the challenges is so much better than Survivor. And I am a Survivor fan, but there is no drama as good as a bunch of old Real Worlders and Road Rulers hanging out for 30 days, getting drunk and trying to win that money. Like I said it begins this fall, not sure when exactly but I’ll keep you posted. I love the challenges. Plus in the promo my all time favorite challenge participant Derek is on it, he alone is worth watching the show. Alright readers stay tuned for more updates on The Island.

Check Out What Is Happening This Week

Monday, July 14th, 2008

As you already know both Brooke Knows Best and Big Brother debuted last night, but they are not the only shows premiering this week.

PR.jpgHeidi Klum and crew are back for Season 5 of Project Runway this Wednesday at 9PM EST on Bravo. This will be Project Runways last season on Bravo, the hit show moves to Lifetime for season 6. I would give you the lowdown on the show, but by season 5 you either know it or you don’t. Personally I don’t know how last year’s winner Christian Siriano can be topped, but I am anxious to see what unfolds.

The controversy surrounding Dog The Bounty Hunter seems to have calmed and the show returns on Wednesday at 9PM EST on A&E. Seaon 5 follows Duane and posse on their adventures to track down fugitives all across the country. Let’s just hope they all learned to control their language a little bit. In case you don’t know what controversy I am talking about Dog recently used an explicit word, one I will not repeat, but I am sure you can find if you Google Dog The Bounty Hunter controversy.

Run is back in the house. The 5th Season of Run’s House premieres Wednesday at 10PM EST on MTV. That is right Hip Hops royal family returns for an all-new season of trials and tribulations. Watch the Simmons clan as they handle all the chaos of a family following their dreams with the love and support each other.

MTV and executive producer Jamie Foxx bring you From G’s to Gents beginning Tuesday at 10PM EST. The show takes 15 rough and tumble types and attempts to turn them into refined gentleman. Style genius Fonzworth Bentley serves as both guide and judge. It’s Bentley’s genuine desire to enhance these men’s lives, along with his polished sincerity that makes this show surprisingly touching. For a sneak peak at the show, watch the below video clip for a preview.

The Wait Is Over

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

The wait is FINALLY over, Big Brother and host Julie Chen are back tonight at 8PM EST on CBS. Julie_Chen.jpgYou all know that I am a huge Big Brother fan and have been anxiously waiting for the new season. If you didn’t, then you should really check out my I Miss Big Brother Blog. The promos for the new season look awesome. There is a 75 year man who has been married for 54 years, a rodeo competitor (who is rumored to be gay), and a mother with a set of twins (one is black and one is white) and that is only 3 of the 13 houseguests. The drama, the laughter, the hook ups, the backstabbing, this show is so good I tell you. So good! Along with the return of Big Brother you also have the return of Big Brother After Dark tonight on Showtime 2, which I am just as addicted to. After Dark is an uncut, uncensored look at what goes on inside the house. Let me tell you, the things you see, will shock and amaze you. Sometimes I wonder how people do the things they do in that house knowing it will end up on TV. But hey really what do I care, it makes for fantastic TV. Yes my faithful readers you have many a Big Brother Blogs to look forward to. However, for you non-viewers, I promise to not turn this into a Big Brother Blog. This blog is after all a Reality TV Blog. For those of you who have never seen Big Brother, I beg of you please check it out. You will so not be disappointed.

It’s Brooke’s Show Now

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

Brooke Hogan is getting her own reality show, and it premieres tonight at 10PM EST on VH1. Actually her show, Broke Knows Best, is replacing her family’s show Hogan Knows Best. It’s pretty hard to do a family reality show when the family is no more, which is why VH1 decided to do a spin-off with Brooke. Instead of focusing on the Hogan clan as a whole, the show centers around Brooke as she moves out on her own. However, with all the Hogan family drama happening one thing is for sure, they will all be popping up on the show. Well all except Nick anyway. And Hulk fans never fear, I hear the American Gladiator host begs his daughter to let him move in with her. Brooke_Hogan.jpg
I can’t believe VH1 gave Brooke Hogan her own show. I mean seriously Hogan Knows Best was blah at best. I find it hard to believe Brooke’s spin off will be any better. I guess it is VH1 and we all know this is the kind of Reality TV they produce. I am not in anyway criticizing VH1; I am merely stating a fact. I am predicting that this lame attempt to keep the Hogan Knows Best viewers, will fail miserably. Sure you might have some people who tune in because they are curious to see what new drama is unfolding with the Hogans, but that will probably be it. Me personally if I want to know about the Hogan Family drama, I’ll watch Access Hollywood. Honestly though, I could care less about this whacked out family. All that being said the show is on tonight if you want to form your own opinion. Clearly I wouldn’t waste the half hour of my life, but it’s up to you.
