A Shot At Love With Tia Tequila

Friday, June 20th, 2008

If you’re a Shot At Love 2 With Tia Tequila fan, then you won’t want to miss the next three weeks where MTV is featuring 3 special edition episodes. It all kicks off on Tuesday June 24th at 10PM EST with “A Shot At Love With Tia Tequila Reunion Happy Hourâ€?. It’s basically a reunion show where fans can get the inside scoop on what the contestants have been up to since they lost their shot with Tila. And I am sure since it is a reunion show it will not be without some good old-fashioned drama. Next up on Tuesday July 1st at 10PM EST Tila Tequila will reveal whether or not she found love a second time around. Of course if she did find love again, she will let us know who she picked in the Season Finale of Shot At Love 2 With Tia Tequila. Then finally on Tuesday July 8th at 10PM EST Tila and the final two contestants will make their fist public appearance together since the finale, where fans will find out if Tila’s new love is for real, that is if she even found love again.
That is a lot of great stuff coming up for A Shot At Love Fans, so mark your calendars and set up your DVR’s so you don’t miss a thing. Again it all begins this Tuesday June 24th on MTV.
Can’t wait for the Season Finale, check out the below preview clip, courtesy of Lauren at Fanscape. Thanks Lauren!

America’s Best Dance Crew Tonight

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

The break out hit America’s Best Dance Crew is back tonight. The show produced by American Idol’s Randy Jackson premieres at 10PM EST on MTV. 10 dance crews will battle it out for the grand prize of $100,000, dance supremacy and title of the nations best dance crew. Fans will vote each week online and via text message for their favorite dance crew. The two teams with the least amount of votes will then show the judges their best moves in the hopes to advance to the next round. A little side note here, the Season 1 finale had more than 38 million votes cast setting a voting record. Wow that is amazing! Viewers can also post their own dance videos at Dance.MTV.com for the chance to be featured on air.
Judges, former N*SYNCER JC Chasez, hip hop recording artist Lil Mama and choreographer Shane Sparks (“You Got Served) are all back to critique the dance crews. Correspondent Layla Kayleigh returns to give us all the backstage insight. Host, dance hottie Mario Lope, is also back for more battling dance action.
You all know how much I love dance shows, so I will be tuning in tonight, will you? To help you decide I have posted a couple of videos below, courtesy of my new friend Lauren at Fanscape. One is from America’s Best Dance Crew casting special and the other two are previews of tonights premiere episode.

Bravo’s Reality TV, I’m Impressed

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Recently I have started watching more reality shows on Bravo and I have to say I am impressed with that network. It seems like ever since the hit Queer Eye For The Straight Guy Bravo has been a real contender in the reality world. In fact Inside The Actors Studio is the only Bravo original series that is not a reality show. These shows are successful popular shows that have people talking. Infact I was trying to think of what kind of network Bravo was before it became success in the reality arena but I couldn’t. I honestly think the only reason I knew about Bravo was because my company used to own it before it was bought by NBC Universal. Now it seems like I am constantly finding a new good show to watch on Bravo. For example last night Bravo premiered its new season of Flipping Out, and now I have another reality show on my DVR. I confess I have not watched all of Bravo’s shows, but my favorite is Project Runway, along with my newly discovered shows Work Out and Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. I tried to get into The Housewives of New York and Orange County, but neither one held my attention. However, I know a lot of people who love both of those shows and think I am crazy for not watching them. All this being said if you’re looking for some new reality shows, I would turn that dial to Bravo. For a full list o all of Bravo’s hit shows check out Bravotv.com.

America’s Got Talent Is Back!

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

America’s Got Talent is back for Season 3 tonight on NBC at 9PM EST. The colorful array of star hopeful acts will compete for the grand prize of $1 million dollars. The acts range from singers and dancers to magicians and ventriloquists. Last years winner Terry Fator, a ventriloquist from Dallas, recently signed a $1.5 million dollar deal with the Las Vegas Hilton to headline his own show. A new twist to the audition process was added this year with a “virtual audition city “ on MySpcae. Jerry Springer returns as host along with celebrity judges David Hasselhoff, Sharon Osbourne, and Celebrity Apprentice winner Piers Morgan.

America_Talent.jpgThe new season is being dubbed as the wildest season yet. I’m not sure what that means exactly but it definitely has me curious. I am going to admit right now that I have not watched this show before, however it has been highly recommended to me by a few people. Therefore, I am going to set up my DVR to watch it this season. So for those of you who have watched the show before, please give me some insight. For those of you who are like me and haven’t watched, I say give it a shot.

More Tori & Dean

Monday, June 16th, 2008

tori.jpgTori & Dean are back this week but their beloved Inn is not. Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood premieres Tuesday June 17th on Oxygen at 10PM EST. The couple ditched their Inn so they could focus on their burgeoning family life and their not so burgeoning careers in Hollywood. I didn’t watch Tori & Dean Inn Love but I have it on pretty good authority that it was actually a decent show. Apparently Tori Spelling is a really funny person. All that being said, I am going to withhold my judgment and opinion of the show until I watch the first episode. And believe me I so want to judge it. I am not a Tori Spelling fan at all. Even when she was on 90210 her character was my least favorite. I can honestly say it has nothing to with the fact that she is Aaron Spellings daughter, I mean I have nothing against Randy. I just don’t like her. I will admit I am actually looking forward to watching the show, I saw some clips on Access Hollywood and my interest is definitely peaked. So be sure to check back to see what my official thoughts and opinions are of Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood. And of course if you have any opinions in the mean time please let me know.

My Survivor Suggestion

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

MTV recently did it with the Real World Awards Bash; Bravo did it the other night with the A-List Awards and now I think CBS should do it with Survivor. survivor.jpgThere should be a Survivor Awards Show, it could be called The Tribal Awards or something. Survivor will go into its 17th Season this fall with Survivor Gabon and season 18 is currently being scouted. Can you imagine getting all the previous Survivor contestants in the same place for an awards show, that alone would be awesome. Awards such as Hottest Male Survivor, hello Ozzy, Hottest Female Survivor, Amanda I guess, Best Fight, too many to pick, Favorite Villain, obviously Johnny Foreplay, Favorite Couple that met on Survivor, anyone but Rob and Amber, Favorite All Time Survivor, hands down Rupert, and last but not least Favorite Season, definitely Survivor All Stars. Of course the fans would choose the winners of these awards. There could be clips of unseen footage, catch up with what the Survivors are doing now, perhaps even fans could email or text questions to be answered by their favorite Survivors. I could go on and on but I won’t because I am pretty sure you get my point. And yes I realize it is basically a rip off of the Real World Bash, but if they can do it so can Survivor, which is by far the better show. I really think CBS and Mark Burnett should consider my brilliant idea. What a great thing to give the fans in the summer when they are having Survivor withdrawal. I wonder how I can get this idea in front of them? Yeah like anyone would really listen to me, but hey am I wrong, what true Survivor fan would not love to see this happen. If you like my idea, tell me who you think would win the above award categories.

Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. I like it!

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Alright so I just finished watching Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List for the first time and I have to say, I Like it. I can’t believe I have enver watched this show before. Obviously I know who Kathy Griffin is, but quite honestly I would always forget her show was even on. Well that changed last week when I was reading my US Weekly and it had a review of the new season. So I set my DVR and decided to check it out for myself. I didn’t have any opion about Kathy Griffin either way before watching the show, she’s a little annoying but that was pretty much it. Now I can proudly say Kathy Griffin is hysterical and her show is awesome. I love that she is completely herself all the time, what you see is what you get. kathyg.jpgAnd her mother is a riot, a drunken riot but a riot none the less. My favorite part of the show is her relationship with Team Griffin. Talk about a great boos who treats her assistants/team like actual people instead of servants like some Hollywwod types do. I am sure it’s not always rosey but seriously they have a lot of fun. I want to work for Team Griffin, how does one get a job on Team Griffin? Anyway back to the show. It made me laugh out loud and I was by myself, when does that ever happen? And it was one of those real gut laughs, not a little fake laugh. If you want to spend an hour laughing I strongly suggest you watch Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List Thursdays at 10PM EST on Bravo. If missed the Season 4 premiere last Thursdays you can watch it on Bravotv.com.

Celebrity Circus Are You Kidding Me?

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Tonight NBC debuts its newest reality show Celebrity Circus at 9:30 PM EST. The premises is 7 D-list, and some are even lower than D-list, celebrities will compete in a series of “death defying circus stunts. Former NSYNCer turned professional host Joey Fatone hosts the show. The 7 “celeb’s are Antonio Sabato Jr., Blu Cantrell, Christopher Knight, Janet Evans, Wee Man, Rachel Hunter and Stacey Dash.

JF.jpgReally, this is a show? I realize the whole having celebrities in a reality show thing is really popular right now, just look at Dancing With The Stars, but come on this is taking it way too far. Circus acts! To begin with who cares about these people? Yes Antonio Sabato Jr is hot, but can someone please tell me who the heck is Janet Evans or Stacey Dash. I have never heard of these people and I like to think my celeb knowledge is pretty darn good, even the D-list and below ones. I honestly don’t understand how NBC, one of the tope 3 networks, puts a show like this on the air. Yes it’s summer, but seriously airing shows like Celebrity Circus is not going to keep viewers glued to their TV. I think I am going to come up with some random concept and say I want “celebritiesâ€? to do and then see if NBC will pick up, clearly it isn’t that hard to get a reality show on NBC. I will definitely not be watching this show tonight. However, I would love to hear if anyone else watches it, so if you do watch please drop me a line.Hey as always this is only my opinion and I could be wrong, stranger things have happened.

I Miss Big Brother!

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

I miss Big Brother. The winter season of Big Brother spoiled me. Granted the winter season was not that great in the beginning with the whole soulmate/couple thing, but Big Brother in general is just awesome. I will confess that Big Brother is another show that I got into late in the game. Last summer was actually the first season that I watched. From the beginning I was hooked, everyone told me it was the best reality show on TV and boy were they right. So now here I am anxiously waiting for the new season, which does not begin until July 13th. That is 5 more weeks until Big Brother is back. I can’t put into words what is so great about this show. You really need to watch it for yourself. Plus if you have Showtime 2 you can get additional uncut footage at night, which is just as addicting, if not more than the show on CBS. In case you don’t know what Big Brother is, I will briefly tell you. 14 houseguests move into the Big Brother house where they are literally cut off from the world for 3 months in the hopes that they will come out with the $500,000 grand prize. They can not leave the house, except to go to the backyard. There is no TV, no phone, no contact with loved ones, no nothing but the other houseguests. The drama that goes down is fantastic. Again I don’t want to over hype or give anything else away. So mark your calendars for July 13th and the new season of Big Brother. I can’t wait. Let the countdown begin!

Nashville Star Begins Tonight

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Billy_Ray.jpgThe USA hit show Nashville Star moves to NBC tonight at 9PM EST kicking off its 6th season. This year the contestants will not only be judged by a panel of country music experts but they will also be provided with a unique mentoring experience. The judges include singer/songwriter and country music star John Rich, multi-platinum singer Jewel, and BMI songwriter of the year Jeffery Steele. Billy Ray Cyrus will take over hosting duties, making him the 5th host of the show in 6 seasons. The winner will receive a recording deal with Warner Bros. Nashville, along with the chance of a lifetime opportunity to take the world’s stage at the Summer Olympics in Bejing. The contestants consist of solo and group acts.

Although the show does not premiere until tonight, it has already had some controversy. Contestant Charla Conn’s dream of being the next Nashville Star was dashed when at the the last minute the Top 12 Finalist was replaced with country group Third Town. Apparently Charla began to have trouble with her voice, leaving the judges to question whether she could handle the rigorous schedule of the show. All preshow drama aside, if you like music and are having American Idol withdraw, tune in tonight to Nashville Star. I’ll check it out, I mean what else is there to watch on a Monday night in the summer.

Living Lohan: I Might Have Been Wrong

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

I just finished watching the 2nd episodes of Living Lohan and it looks like I might have been wrong about the show. I say might because to be quite honest I am not really sure if I like it or not. I admit I did like the 1st episode, including the nice cliffhanger that made sure I would tune in to the next episode, which I did. Although I didn’t think episode two was as good as ali.jpgthe first one, it wasn’t awful. This leaves me an a little bit of quandary because quite frankly I really can’t decide whether or not I like the show. I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it either. The show is by no means as good as say Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but it does have some appeal to it. Enough appeal that I am going to keep tuning in, even though I am not a Dina Lohan fan at all. If previews of the upcoming season are any indication of what is really ahead, this could turn out to be a decent show. So for now I am saying there is a chance I might have been wrong about Living Lohan. If you have nothing better to do on Sunday night it couldn’t hurt to check it out. And please let me know what you think, since I clearly am on the fence about this show. Living Lohan is on E! at 10:30 PM on Sundays.

Work Out!

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

work_out.jpgI am always looking for a good new reality show to watch. Last night thanks to my friend Becca I found one. Work Out on Bravo centers around fitness maverick Jackie Warner and her exclusive Beverly Hills gym Sky Sport & Spa. Although the show is in its 3rd season, it’s new to me and I can’t believe I discovered it so late. Lucky for me there is Itunes and Bravotv.com, hopefully one of them will have the past 2 seasons. I should also probably mention it’s actually in the middle of its 3rd season. Anyway the show is really good. Even though Jackie is the main focus of the show, you also get a insight to Jackie’s team of trainers and their personal lives. There are so many good things about this show I can’t even express them all. What I can say is it has been awhile since I watched a reality show that I really liked from the get go. Now I don’t want to over hype the show because we all know how too much hype can cause disappointment. So if you haven’t checked out Work Out, I suggest you do. It’s on Tuesdays at 10PM EST on Bravo. If do watch Work Out, let me know and please catch me up.

She’s Got The Look

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Tonight at 10PM TVLand debuts a new reality show staring older women. She’s Got The Look is modeling competition consisting of gorgeous women all over the age of 35. The lucky winner wins a life-changing contract with the famous Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, and a spread in Self Magazine. Basically the woman will receive a second chance at a modeling career. The shows judges are super model Beverly Johnson who was the first African America model to appear on the cover of Vogue, Wilhelmina Modeling Agency president Sean Patterson, and celebrity stylist Robert Verdi. Although some might say the show is America’s Next Top Model for cougars, I commend TVLand for doing a modeling competition that focuses on women over 35. I watched a couple of the sneak weeks at TVLand.com and it was good, I was only going to watch one sneak peek and ended up watching all four. Granted it was just the audition process but there was some drama, and some very inspiring/heartfelt moments. So I say if you are looking for something a little different, a little touching, with a lot of drama thrown in, then don’t miss She’s Got The Look.

Denise Richards: I Was Right!

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

denise2.jpgLast night I sat down and finally watched Denise Richards: It’s Complicated. Oh My God was I ever right, that show is beyond awful. It was so painful I could only stomach the first 15 minutes. I promise I really went into it trying to not be judgmental, but as soon as it stared it was bad. Every few clips Denise is by herself basically giving commentary, that is really what made the show bad for me. Listening to her speak in her monotone voice with out of control hand gestures was not entertaining to say the least. Then I sat through Denise freaking out a the DMV cause she didn’t have the right paperwork signed to change her name back to Richards, arguments with her sister about Denise’s bad taste in men, a clip of her two pigs going at it, and Denise’s friend Trish trying to fix Denise up on a blind date, which Denise was completely obnoxious about. Oh and best of the worst was Denise and her father talking to the female pig wondering if the pig is now pregnant. Finally I couldn’t take it. The show is not only BORING but ridiculous, the title should be Denise Richards: Is Ridiculous. After I looked at my clock and realized I had just wasted 15 minutes of my life, I decided no more time could be devoted to this show. I hit delete and deleted it off my DVR. Now I am sure there are some of you out there who disagree with me and actually like the show, so let me know why you liked it. Hey we are all entitled to our opinion, I have said mine, so tell me yours.

Reality TV, The New Way of Casting!

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

legally_blonde.jpgTonight MTV debuts its newest reality show Legally Blonder The Musical: The Search For Elle Woods. The show premiering at 10 PM EST is exactly what it says, the search for the new Elle Woods to be in the Broadway hit musical Legally Blonde. This type of reality show seems to be becoming all the rage. Last summer NBC had a hit with the show Grease You’re The One I Want, which was a search to cast the new Danny and Sandy in the Broadway revival of Grease. Not to be outdone, ABC and Disney are debuting High School Musical: Get In The Picture this summer. The grand prizewinner will appear in a music video airing during the end credits of the upcoming High school Musical 3.

So what is with this new way of casting? If you think about it, it works well for everyone. Unknown talented people get a chance that they might not have otherwise gotten if not agreeing to appear on the show. Networks such as MTV, NBC and ABC get hit shows that attract and keep viewers, which can be easily lost during the summer months. It sounds like a win-win situation to me. Even if you are not the winner of these shows, it is a great way for people to make connections. Yes this new casting method is different but hey who said different was a bad thing. Me personally I don’t know that I would ever have the guts to be on a show like any of the above 3 shows, but I give huge credit to anyone who does. I firmly believe that you have to do whatever it takes to make your dreams come true. For most of these people, this is their one big shot. I guess you could say being on a show like Legally Blonde is a means to an end for someone who wants to be a Broadway star. I wish all the contestants on Legally Blonde and High School Musical the best of luck.
